November 12, 2024 - Press Release

[Guelph, Ontario – November 12, 2024]

Rental Housing Business (RHB) Magazine has ranked Skyline Apartment REIT among the Top 10 REITs in London and Waterloo, denoting the REIT’s strong presence and geographic spread across many of Canada’s secondary communities.

The REIT was ranked in the magazine’s 2024 Regional editions, based on the number of apartment suites owned and managed within each region:

  • Kitchener-Waterloo (including Guelph, Cambridge, Elmira, and New Hamburg) – ranked #10 with 1,327 suites (as of July 31, 2024)
  • London (including St. Thomas) – ranked #7 with 1,655 suites (as of July 31, 2024)

“We are proud to be recognized among the top ten REITs in the London and Waterloo regions,” said Matthew Organ, President, Skyline Apartment REIT.

“The REIT continues to see value in secondary and tertiary communities where demand for rental housing remains high. We look forward to continuing to execute on this strategy, which has delivered investors historically stable returns since inception.”

RHB’s “The Annual” Regional editions present “the complete market perspective for the rental housing industries of Ottawa, Hamilton, Waterloo, London, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan.” Each edition comprises an annual survey of industry experts, association executives, government sources, and apartment owners and managers within the region.

As of its latest purchase in Parksville, British Columbia in August 2024, Skyline Apartment REIT comprises 240 properties in 57 communities in seven provinces across Canada, with a total of 21,867 residential units. The REIT continues to acquire and develop high-quality multi-residential properties in Canada’s secondary and tertiary markets, where housing demand remains high and competition to build remains comparatively low.
